ACE is open for referrals again for 10 to 25 year olds in Lancaster District.
We have emotional health practitioners who will work with young people showing the following symptoms
- Mild low mood
- Mild anxiety
- Poor emotional regulation resulting in excessive anger, frustration, tears or superficial self-harm behaviours (scratching, skin picking and pinching, punching walls or doors.)
- Stress
- Panic attacks
- Difficulty making or sustaining friendships
- Low self esteem
- Poor body image
- Difficulties with family relationships
We also have a trauma worker and a CBT therapist.
The trauma worker will work with young people aged 10 to 18 who have experienced one or more event that they have found traumatic which has resulted in symptoms, such as flash backs, poor sleep, anxiety, self harming behaviours, low mood, low self esteem and self worth
The CBT therapist will work with young people aged 11 to 25 who are willing to engage with this form of therapy who have higher levels of general anxiety, social anxiety and OCD, emotional based school avoidance, health anxiety and phobias and depression.
We also have skilled and experienced students offering counselling and CBT therapy to young people over 18 and parents of any young person we are working with.
