Reception and Admin
You will be meeting and greeting our service users at the door and ensuring they get to the right team member for their session. This reasonably straightforward role may also involve light admin tasks such as labelling envelopes. Occasionally there may be a hot drink to be made for a parent or carer. Usually early evenings Mon or Weds for 3 hours.
Social Media
Facebook and tweeting all take up time sweet time!! If you fancy giving our social media lady a hand as an admin on a site or simply by posting and sharing, we have a tidy set of guidelines for you to follow to keep us all safe in the online world. Obligation is for as little or as much as you like!!
Charity Directors/Trustees
We currently have a vacancy for a finance director. If you have skills in this areas and would like to be on the board of directors or become a volunteer for ACE or need more information, please get in touch!
A DBS check and a small amount of mandatory safeguarding training are necessary for all the above roles.
We can offer references, info for your CV, support and training and a great group of new colleagues.

What We Do
A.C.E. supports young people to improve their emotional/mental health. Our Emotional Health Practitioners mainly work with young people individually. We also run some groups and work with the family if it will support the progress of the young person. We do not have a set programme of work but will listen to the young person, assess their needs, identify goals and support them to improve their emotional health and build resilience.
Our Story
A.C.E. was founded in 2008 following a piece of research with vulnerable young people about their needs. A.C.E was designed by young people and young people continue to be involved in its development. In 2011 A.C.E. became a registered charity and has slowly grown over the years.
About Us
As a charity A.C.E provides emotional health and wellbeing therapy free of charge, however, additional services are available to purchase for organisations and educational establishments. We offer a one to one service but where appropriate groups may be catered for. Please contact us at confidential.a-c-e.org.uk for further information.
WHAT WE DO
A.C.E. delivers solution focussed interventions to suit the needs of individuals or groups. Our trained and experienced workers use discussions, Games, Art and Craft, Drama and Role Play, to increase resilience and improve emotional and mental health and wellbeing.
This service is currently available for young people aged 10 -25 in the Lancaster, Morecambe, Carnforth, Kirkham and Fleetwood and takes place in schools, GP surgeries and community settings.
We are seeking funds to extend the service to other areas and to children and adults.
Young people referred to the service are offered either individual support or group work to tackle the causes of poor emotional health and wellbeing and are encouraged to set goals to overcome them and build resiliance
INDIVIDUAL SUPPORT
Individual support uses a variety of solution focused methods to encourage the young person or adult to identify and tackle the causes of poor emotional health and wellbeing and set goals to overcome them and build resilience.
The current support available includes Active Listening techniques using
art
drama or games
Life coaching
Counselling
Integrated Eye Movement Therapy.
Young people identify being listened to and challenged to think differently. It is not only a pleasant experience but motivates them to change things in their attitude and behaviour which improves their well being and builds resilience.
PEER SUPPORT GROUPS
The Peer Support Group supports young people to improve their social and emotional skills, by focusing on different capabilities of social and emotional health. The participants build on existing strengths and develop new skills and abilities, change attitudes and motivation.
They learn to support each other within the group and extend this to other young people outside the group. Young people that have taken part identify increased confidence and self esteem, better relationships with friends and families, reduced use of alcohol or drugs, reduced self harming behaviours and increased resilience.
ACE Gives Young People with poor emotional/mental Health a Voice
We gain the views of the young people we work with on a variety of mental health issues.
