I qualified as a social worker in 1992 and have worked in social care in a variety of roles and settings (including education, health, residential and the voluntary sector) for approximately twenty five years providing emotional and practical support to children, young people and families. The main aim of this work has been to provide a support service offering 1:1 advice, guidance and assistance, whilst promoting the physical, social, educational and emotional well-being of the people with whom I have worked.

My interests include travel, walking, music (both listening and performing) and camping.

I am a qualified therapist who is registered with the BACP.

I have extensive experience in working with children, young people and families.

My roles have been varied but always with the focus of the young person being central to my work.

I have worked within an education setting, Rape Crisis, NSPCC Child Protection Helpline and also specialising in working with attachment and complex trauma with young people in care.  More recently I have worked with a national charity, providing therapeutic work to young people, as well as managing a service and a team.

My aim is always to hear the young person’s voice, to empower them, and to offer a service that provides an effective pathway to a positive future.

I enjoy being outdoors, being with friends and always being able to smile and laugh loudly.
